I purchased the upgrade for my old Quicken. I can always trust Intuit to keep track of the mundane so that all of the information is readily available when needed. I've started attaching receipts, warranties, etc., to my entries so that all of this information is readily available as well. The transition from the old quicken to the new quicken is seamless. I wouldn't be without it!

Quicken continues to deliver a quality product. I have used both Quicken and MS Money over the years, and always go back to Quicken. They have a very clean interface and good help features if you get stuck. The only thing I do not like is Intuits insistence on adding extra icons to my desktop to sell you checks and other services. This is irritating and should be an option during installation. Other than this, I am happy with it. Doesn't seem as bloated as MS Money. Good buy at around $40.00.

For me, the incentive to upgrade to the 2008 version was Quicken's claim that the program now supports importing PayPal transactions. As an eBay PowerSeller, that was great news.

After installing the upgrade to Quicken 2008 Home & Business, the PayPal downloads initially seemed to work fine, but now I'm rarely able to import any new transactions. Sometimes, the program will tell you the account update was successful even though no new transactions were imported (and I know there are multiple cleared transactions that should be imported). Other times, the program claims there's a Quicken server outage and suggests you try again later.

The Quicken support technician I chatted with insisted I must have a corrupted file. Ironically, creating an entirely new Quicken file and PayPal account only resulted in the same problems. Quicken now acknowledges there's an issue on their support site, but there's no information on when a fix will be available.

If you're an eBay seller hoping this is the answer to your PayPal accounting needs, I'm afraid you're in for a big disappointment. At this point, I wouldn't waste my money on an upgrade.

I've used Quicken to keep records of my family household finances and my investments since ver 1. I usually buy the update every other year. Been using the 2008 Deluxe for about a month now and it is an improvement over 2006. I was not happy with 2006 and many of its limitations are corrected in 2008. 2008 is not perfect but it is a very usable program. I would recommend this version.
