Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just as good as advertised.
I thought for sure my gps would go flying on my 1st turn, but it never moved. I'm glad i bought it.

- Stays where you put it, yet easily relocated
This mount will stay pretty much anywhere you put it due to its weight and non-skid bottom. It has a small amount of flexibility that will allow for some custom shaping to your dash. Having the GPS attached to this mount makes removing it for storing under your seat when parking pretty easy.

Ive found this to be a great mount! It doesn't slide, and keeps the Garmin GPS readily viewable. It's easy to attach the GPS unit to the mount and remove it, and the mount has adjustments to position the stick support part of the mount in any position relative to the sandbags of the mount itself. Plus the ball joint on the stick portion allows the GPS unit to be positioned in any position easily. The dashboard mount also conveniently fits in my storage compartment next to the seat so I can quickly and easily put it away out of site when I park my car and get it back into action when I'm ready to drive off. When removed, there's no trace I have a GPS unit, unlike the suction cup versions that leave a telltale mark on the windshield that some thiefs use as a sign to break into a car to steal the GPS. The Amazon price was significantly lower than the price at my local electronic store. There were no disadvantages to this mount that I can think of. It's easier to connect the power cable to the mount before snapping on the GPS unit.

This thing sits like a rock on the dash of both our Taurus and Ranger, the GPS stays nice and steady and doesn't mar the dash. Very Happy!

- It's not a suction cup thank you!
This gadget is the best thing since shoestrings, and you don't need to tie it to the dashboard. It holds our Garmin nuvi in place like it was nailed there! The little suction cup that comes with your Garmin Navigator is nice, but this thing has the grip of Superman and it leaves no greasy ring around the tub,,,,uh, windshield. Throw it on the dash where ever you want it. It is a little big and heavy, but no problem. It does the job and does it well. And it won't fall into your lap when you break the car from your usual 75mph to 35mph when you see the trooper in the rear view mirror! Great addition to your navigator. I like what is good and what works when I spend my wife's money on it. This lets me spend her money and it works too. Oh the agony of it all. Man's work is never done! I don't think I am going to write about the friction mount.
