This friction dashboard mount works perfectly with my Garmin 255w. It provides ease of location for any point on my dash in both vehicles. I've never had a problem with sliding at any selection location. I much prefer this product over the supplied windshield and other supplied dash mounting units. When traveling, it's easy to remove the GPS unit, slip it into your pocket or carrying case and take it with you to discourage theft. Just simply place the friction mount on the floor. I bought a HP camera case which adequately stores the friction mount, GPS and other accessories easily. Great product and truly very satisfied.

Works great- I also have a TomTom with a suction cup mount and it, well, sucks. Highly recommended!

A friend recommended purchasing the Garmin Portable Friction dashboard mount instead of the using the standard suction cup device that comes with the system. The dashboard mount is very easy to use, stays in place and does not leave any signs that the car contains a GPS system unlike the telltale sign of a suction cup ring on the windshield

I own a nuvi 660 and my past experience with the suction mount hadn't been that great. Getting the suction mount to stay during winter was the biggest challenge and once you get it to stay, you never know when it might fall off... it could break the antenna or fall off at a bad time when you're nearing some complex intersection where you need the GPS the most. It fell off for me once while I was on a busy highway in Denver, CO. I got this on the recommendation of my brother and I must say it's absolutely great. I used to think it was secured to the dashboard but it just sits on the dashboard. When I'm not using it, I keep it on my backseat. Garmin should include this as the standard mount atleast on the units that cost 600+ but still that shouldn't detract from how wonderful this mount is.

This is the perfect mount for a Nuvi GPS unit as it holds the unit securely in place on the dashboard. For those of us who have more than one vehicle, it is the best way to transfer the GPS unit between them. The mount is not too large to fit on the dash of our Rav4, and works in different places on our Jeep Grand Cherokee's dash. You won't be dissappointed with this product.
