This case is very well suited for my external HD.
It is resistent, does not deform and, besides, it is very discret and beautiful.

I ordered 4 of these to be used to transport standard 3.5 inch hard-drives as part of a rotating off-site back-up scenario.
Found that the cases are too small for standard 3.5 inch hard-drives. Probably would work for a lap-top hard-drive, but I did not try that.
The cases look great, and appear they would be perfect for smaller hard-drives and devices.

infinity plus one created a list that mentioned this case as being perfect for the nokia n800. I agree. the nokia fits perfectly even in its soft cover.

I like this item because in my opinion is hard but not heavy case which will protect your hard driver very good. Inside has space to put other things like cables, ipod, etc.
