I have tried many foundations, but by far Bare Esentuals foundation is my favorite. I have very dry and sensitive skin, so finding products that I can use is almost impossible. I like how it makes my dry skin dewey looking, and it also gives me a medium to full coverage look. The great thing is you can control the coverage just by the amount of minerals you use that day. Also no matter how much you use, as long as, you use the right color you won't get that jawline demarcation. It looks very natural. Another positive thing is B.E. foundation does not enhance my wrinkles, I don't know about you, but most powders seem to enhance them. Finally, I like that a little goes a long way. It might seem a little pricey, but in the two years I have used the foundation I have only had to resupply three times.
A couple of tips when using B.E. foundation, apply with the "Flawless Application Brush" it seems to do a better job then other brushes. Also like I said before a little goes a long way, so use SPARINGLY. Last but not least and the only negative comment I have about the foundation, be careful it can get messy. No matter how careful I am, I seem to end up with a little on my counter and sink.

... and I've only had to buy 2 jars so far. A little really does go a long way, and when you think about it, for the price, you're actually paying LESS than you normally would buying refills every other month for the chalky looking makeup that does nothing for your skin. I've even tried to go the cheaper route and buy the new department store stuff that pretends to look like Bare Minerals. I used it for about a week, decided I hated it, and went back to my Bare Minerals. Once you use it, nothing else will ever feel right on your skin. Point is, I love Bare Minerals and I don't think I'll ever use anything else! :)

I have very sensitive skin, so much so that I can only use certain facial cleansers and lotions, otherwise I breakout. I can't touch my face (or my bf, which he does not like) or I will certainly have a zit. After years and years of struggling, I finally felt like I had decent skin and my problem was under control. Surprisingly I have always been able to use cheap liquid foundation without a problem, except for the fact that I look like I am wearing a mask. My mom has the same type of skin as me and she has been using Bare Minerals for a few years and loves it. I thought I would try it, as I was looking for a more natural appearance. The first day I loved it, even though my face felt itchy. The second day, still itchy. By the third day I developed a "rash" all over my face, including my eyelids. It is bumpy, pustule-like with some white heads. If I scratch the rash, it does break open and drain, drying crusty. My entire face is more red than it has ever been. I am so horrified. I am so picky about my face (and I am a very attractive 24 year old) and this has just ruined it. I have not used the product for 2 days now and it definitely has not started to get better yet. I am about to go back to the store to return it, but wanted to check and see if anyone else has experienced this. I guess it is good to know that I am not the only one and the cause could be bismuth oxychloride. Be careful! I am hoping this will clear up in time for Thanksgiving!

Bare escentials bareminerals foundation is such a refreshing change to traditional foundation.... its truly the new wave in make-up that younger women have been looking for: it enhances and polishes your look but with a very feather-light, natural feel. Its the opposite of mask-y, heavy, skin-polluting make-ups. Aside from its lightness, the best part is it actually is GOOD for your skin. I have heard that its claims of skin-penetrating minerals is unscientific as minerals cannot be absorbed through the surface of ones skin, but all I know is whatever is in this product, it has DRASTICALLY improved the condition of my skin over the course of 3 months. AND, when I stop using it for long periods, my skin's gets more broken out, and acne scars linger longer.
I was initally attracted to bare minerals because I was having severe break-outs over my forehead, chin, and cheeks and just wanted to find something remotely natural and properly skin-toned to cover them up. After using the Skin-Rev-up stuff in the kit in tandem with the powder for 3 months, my skin cleared up and my acne scars slowly started to heal . When I have facial scarring, scars are dark and usually last months. It was such an amazing occurance when they started to heal within one-two weeks!
My criticism is this: WOMEN OF COLOR BE CAUTIOUS: The medium to dark tones of this product are more true to darker skin tones BUT they still look like the range of white women's reddish skin tone in the varying states of 'tanness'. Meaning, the golden tones that many women of color have-- especially those of light but more medium complexions-- is not represented by this product. I find that its better than most foundations, but still almost all these powders have a red undertone rather than olive or golden. ALSO, i find that on hotter days, in humid climates, the make-up tends to settle into the cracks, crevices, and wrinkles of your skin... it also may pool in the oil spots and disappear from the dry spots. So, not the best. One way to help prevent this embarrassing blotchy look is to allow the primer/moisturizer to dry COMPLETELY before applying the powder, and to retouch/check often on hot, sticky days using the mineral veil and oil absorbent sheets.

This makeup is okay. I have mild acne and it masks some of the redness. I can't use the foundation alone, or else my skin will be oily and caked looking. I have to use a pressed powder by cover girl to go over it. I don't think it's some miracle makeup, I've had cheaper, better mineral makeup.
