As I've stated on other websites, this product is NOT for dry skin!! I plunked down $250 to try it all and try it all I did. I gave it months of trials trying to get my skin to look wonderful like the infomercials..I would even have settled for my skin looking a tad better than it did. No dice. It caked, it stuck to my dry patches, it streaked, it did nothing for the dark circles under my eyes, it made my face look floury like a clown and I hated all of it and it all sits wasted in my closet. There is NO miracle makeup, different makeup works differently for different types of skin and I can't see how this dry powdery substance with no moisturizing qualities would even remotely look good on dry skin.

A little background on me: Besides having taken classes AND taught classes on the proper use of makeup, I use top-of-the-line, moisturizing facial cleansers and moisturizers and live in a moist climate. My skin is already sensitive and tends to redden with irritating makeup. This one is the worst for me and I don't recommend it to anyone with dry skin... at any time..at all. Huge waste of money.

I have, for the most part, pretty average skin (medium to fair complexion with slightly combination skin). However I have gotten many complements on my skin - why? Because I am very good at applying makeup!
After hearing all the hype about the mineral makeups I decided to give it a try over my regular concealer/foundation/pressed powder routine. I purchased the bare minearls foundation with the recommended brushes and did not like the product at all (even after extensive testing).
It did not provide coverage for my problem spots (dark under-eye circles and occasionaly breakouts) and it did not absorb any oil. The effect was shiny, almost metallic (from the reflective pigments) and the color did not match well with my skin. (This despite the fact that I bought this item at a Ulta so I had tried it on my face and picked the one that I thought was closest to my skin tone). This may be due to he fact that I look better in makeups with slightly yellowish undertones (like MAC) and the bare minerals foundations tend to have a beigy/pink undertone. Additionally, it exaggerated any unusual surface irregularities (like the slight depressions under my eyes). Again, this is due to the reflective properties of the makeup.

After a few hours the shine was already breaking through and DONT BE MISLEAD by the infommercial - this product DOES rub off. It'll rub off on clothes, on your hand even on the nose pads of your sunglasses.

I would recommend this product only to women with very dry, smooth skin with few imperfections. (Like there are very many women like that out there).

I would NOT recommend this product if you have even slightly combination/oily skin. It will exacerbate the shiny effect.

- Foundation that looks so natural
After using so many different foundations, I finally found the perfect one for me. This foundation just looks so natural. I have oily skin on my t-zone and normal skin on the rest of my face. After using this foundation, I was just so amazed at how my skin looked, flawless and glowing. The medium beige totally blended with my natural face color so it was hard to tell that I even had any make-up on. My co-worker even asked me what I did to my face to make it so smooth. I am so happy with this product and I intend to use it forever. No other mineral make-up compares. If you want the natural look, go for the bare escentuals foundation, you won't regret it.

I tried quite a few foundation products before I came across Bare Minerals. I had given up on make-up foundations because no matter what product I used on my face, it would break-out after a day or two. And when you break out, you use more to cover it up, which caused the skin to break-out more.
Bare Minerals was so light, yet it covered up all problems (age spots, red spots, acne, etc). And then you get a benefit from the product, it actually reduced the acne, the red spots. In the end, I actually use less of the product than when I first starting using it, because my skin is actually looking better. Who would have thought? buy it, you'll like it.
