Pros. It works for my now 12 months old daughter. She can play and move a long while cruising in the gate.
Cons. It is hard to change shapes. It is also pretty flimsy. It's pretty small. Better get an extra extension

- For what its worth...
We bought the super play yard and the XT extension as a play area for our twins. For *that* its wonderful. However, today I fell trying to get in and out of it. I am pregnant and its very awkward to use. The manufacturer gives instructions on how to open and close from the panels, but, this only works well as the 18 square foot octagon shape. When its the 6 by 6 square with the extension, when you open the gate one whole side has to be swung open and the play area resists. Not to mention that if you have twins in it, you have to try and close it back up one handed while transitioning one twin in/out so that whoever is in it while you retrieve the other can't lean on the play yard wall and possibly hurt themselves while you attend to the other twin. And whats sad is that this gating system is primarily used by mothers of multiples.

What bothered me is that North States is known for their infant gates, and couldn't come up with an optional gate to purchase with the play yard that would be easier for moms of multiples to use. Theres just no easy way to "push down one side while lifting up the other" when you are holding a BABY.

I am very disappointed with this system. I think its good for those only using it for one child, but for multiples (what its needed most for) its pretty inefficient.

We purchased this play yard for when our twin grandsons are at our home. It's big enough to give them plenty of play room (with the extension), without being too heavy to move. It's been great because it saves on the amount of baby proofing we need to do. It is easy to fold up to put away when they aren't here. Works great outside as well.

We bought this a few weeks ago for our 11 month-old and bought the extension kit just in case. It is a great little unit -- big enough to occupy her and incredibly light-weight when you break it down. The fact that it is easily expandable is also a real plus. When you set it up into a stable shape, the baby can cruise around along the fence, shake it, bounce up and down, lean on it and it doesn't give. Highly recommended!

Please beware! Only purchase this product if you intend to set it up in one place and leave it there. While it can be folded up for storage, it isn't as easy and convenient as it sounds. The hinges are hard to adjust, and it is too unwieldy to move as is. I was looking for something for my puppy that could easily be moved from room to room and from inside to outside several times a day, and this product does not fit the bill! It looks decent and is sturdy, but it is certainly not easily portable. However, if you do decide to buy it, buy it here! I didn't think to look at Amazon and bought from a pet supply company and paid $25 more and still have to find something else!
