With its incessant piano hook and heart-felt lyrics, "Love Song" caught my attention immediately as one of the most impressive debut singles I've heard on pop radio. So is it true with the rest of "Little Voice" which demonstrates that Sara Bareilles has an incredibly bright future ahead as a compelling chanteuse of original piano-based pop rock music (I'd like to think of her as someone with the melodic richness of a Sarah McLaughlin coupled with the sarcastic, hip lyrics and excellent musical chord ... This is the debut(?) CD for a gifted young chanteuse. The songs are well-crafted, original, and bouncy. Two have received national airplay...'Love Song' and 'Many the Miles'. Her voice is bright and crystal clear - and she employs it with complete control, no "Mariah Carey"ing on here! The melodies are infectious and the arrangements are sparse enough to allow the vocals and piano shine through. This is an impressive first effort from a fresh young talent. I look forward to future offerings from Ms.Bareilles ... Read More

I had already decided to adopt Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" as the best album for the year of 2008, but then I got introduced to a song called "Gravity."
I couldn't rest until I got my hands on this album, and from start to finish Bareilles is simply superb. Every arrangement is touching, and her soulful, melodic voice gives me chills. I've been carrying it around in my mp3 player, and for the exception of one song, I've rated the entire album with four, five stars all throughout.

We recently saw her in concert with Maroon Five and Counting Crows. She was amazing so we ordered the CD. Sara Bareilles is a major talent.

I listened to this the first time and admit (moronically so) I found it to marginally good at best. Well, then I listened to about a dozen more times and, like a heroin addict was hooked and can't hear it enough. The writing is incredibly wonderful, the arrangement nearly perfect, and the vocals of this woman come from - well, I don't know where they come from, but are distinctive, moving, and relateable (sic). They come from the heart and reek of experience. While they are mostly love songs, they are no where ... Read More
