I have experienced nothing but hassles with my Canon 580 since I bought it. I'd hardly used the printer when the indicator said I needed to "check ink." It doesn't *always* say that, but it does again now, and it won't even let me scan a document because I need to "check ink" again -- though no ink is necessary for creating a digital file!! I've also been very disappointed with the quality of photo prints it produces. I wish I'd ignored Consumer Reports and gotten another HP all-in-one...

Pretty good multifunction printer, but the auto doc feeder tends to grab multiple pages to feed at the same time. After about 18 months, I began to get 5c10 Error Messages on my printer screen and flasing lights on the printer. Good printer while it lasted.

I was looking for an inexpensive fax/copier since I already have several printers. The price on this all in one fax/copier/printer/scanner caught my eye. The favorable reviews that others left made me buy the Canon MP530. I have used the copy, scan and fax functions and all work great.

I have used this machine for two months now and I am extremely pleased with its performance. Printing and copying is quiet, clear and fast. The Quick Start Setup was easy to follow but did not include the information necessary to set up the fax. Unfortunately, the nearly incomprehensible printed manual included in the box did not help and the online manual offered no help whatsoever. If the manual had been better, I would have rated this machine 5 stars.

I won't just call this printer a rip-off and walk away. No I think there is something more sinister afoot that needs to be addressed head-on. You see, I noticed the ink cartridges that came with my printer went empty almost immediately. I'm talking after only having printed between 40 or 50 pages TOPS. So I thought since they were "freebie" cartridges they weren't filled all the way up. Surely when I purchased new cartridges the ink would last much much longer. WRONG!
I didn't print ... Read More
