Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis in 1972, Botanic Garden is a ground breaking pattern-over thirty different flowers adorn the collection.Each product is produced in a variety of different flowers and the whole mix and match pattern is unified by the unique style of drawing, the flitting butterflies and the distinctive leaf border. Botanic Garden has become one of the world's best selling tableware designs and is constantly changing with new motifs and products regularly added to the range.Since Portmeirion's tableware range is "Oven-to-Tableware," it can also be used for cooking. However, this pottery has been designed to perform perfectly satisfactorily at the lower range of temperatures normally used when cooking and should not be used at oven temperatures of over 170??C (340??F / UK Gas Mark 3).

Perfect for fruit salads, soup, cereal, and of course ice cream, this set of six deep bowls has no end of uses. French onion soup can even be served with the traditional topping of melted cheese, because the sturdy earthenware is oven-safe to 340 degrees F. Each bowl is covered with hand-painted flowers. Inside is a single large motif, and the outside features a smaller repeated pattern and a rim of intertwined leaves.
More than 30 years ago the founder of Portmeirion Potteries was inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations to create the Botanic Garden collection of tableware and cookware. Each piece is crafted from fine glazed earthenware and features highly detailed floral designs complemented by a simple border of green leaves to give the collection a coordinated look. We have these bowls and use them every single day for things like cereal, guacamole, fruit & yogurt, and dessert, among other things. These are very durable bowls that are beautiful to look at. Our guests always comment on how nice they are.

The "Fruit Salad Bowls" are beautiful at any occasion at any age. It is durable and displays wonderfully at formal to informal dinners. You can't ask for more from this product.
