Delphi 5 is an excellent tool to create any imaginable Windows software. It has the power of C++ and it's as easy as Visual Basic, but it's much faster, more reliable and stable and your apps are easy to deploy, due that you can create standalone executables.

I written serious COM+ objects in Delphi for Active Server Page based web sites. Beats VB and has the strength of Visual C++. Soon to be ported to Linux and maybe Sun Solaris or IBM 6000 unix OS.
